Case Study
Building a Law Firm's Technology Infrastructure From the Ground Up
Nova Law Group
Security Cameras · Access Control · Intercoms · Structured Cabling · A/V Systems · Alarm Systems
PAX Security built a complete technology infrastructure from the ground up for Nova Law Group's Newark immigration law office -- covering structured cabling, 25-camera surveillance, alarm, access control, intercoms, A/V, and smart building controls.
The Challenge
What We Were Brought In To Solve
Nova Law Group's Newark office had zero existing network infrastructure when PAX Security arrived. There was no cabling, no networking equipment, and no security systems in place -- everything had to be designed and deployed from scratch in an active professional environment serving hundreds of immigration and family law clients.
The PAX Solution
How We Delivered
PAX Security engineered and installed a full technology stack: 48 structured Cat5e/Cat6 network drops, a rack-mounted Ubiquiti UniFi network (Dream Machine Pro SE gateway, 24-port Layer 3 switch with 10G SFP+, and 3 ceiling-mounted WiFi 7 access points), a 25-camera Vivotek IP surveillance system recorded on a rackmounted DW Spectrum NVR, a Qolsys IQ Panel 4 alarm with 7 DSC PowerG motion detectors and 20 door/window sensors, Akuvox SIP video intercoms with electric door strikes for access control, Russound in-ceiling audio, GoControl Z-Wave smart dimmers, and Alarm.com smart thermostats.

Who Actually Has Access to Your Building Right Now?
Not who should have access -- who does. Most buildings cannot answer that question cleanly. Here is what a real access audit looks like and why the gaps are almost always hiding in plain sight.
The Real Cost of a Security System Beyond the Installation Quote
The installation quote is one number. The actual cost of owning a security system is several others. Most building owners learn this after they sign -- here is how to see it coming.
What "Monitored Alarm" Actually Means (and What It Doesn't)
Monitoring is one of those terms that sounds definitive but means very different things depending on the company, the plan, and how your system is set up. Here is what you are actually paying for.
