Case Study
5 Penn Plaza
5 Penn Plaza
Security Cameras
PAX Security modernized surveillance at 5 Penn Plaza with 121 cameras, two enterprise on-prem servers, DW Spectrum VMS, and managed network infrastructure through a phased zero-downtime migration.
The Challenge
What We Were Brought In To Solve
5 Penn Plaza had an aging surveillance system with more than 80 existing cameras and a legacy VMS license nearing expiration. Management needed a reliable 24/7 camera system for security and building operations, but could not afford downtime during the transition.
The PAX Solution
How We Delivered
We staged the upgrade so the existing system stayed active while the new system was built, tested, and brought online. PAX Security deployed 121 cameras, two enterprise on-premise servers, DW Spectrum VMS, managed TP-Link switches, and WattBox UPS units for remote troubleshooting and power protection. Cameras were selected from multiple manufacturers based on the specific needs of each area.
